Background on Tera Surroor

Tera Surroor was the first track on Himeshji’s private album “Aap Kaa Surroor” which released in January 2005. There are 3 versions of the track: original, unplugged and remix. There have been 2 videos for the track: original & remix verions both of which have been loved and appreciated by audiences all around the world. The song opens with a piano introduction which is followed by violins and guitar. Sung entirely by Himeshji, Tera Surroor proved to be a huge success & is still loved & remembered by all HR fans even today.

Tu Yaad Na Aaye Aisa Koi Din Nahin is a soulful melody which expresses the feelings one goes through when they have lost someone dear to them. Himeshji has used a wide range of instruments in the song ranging from the saxophone, to tabla to flute to create a unique sound of lonliness. It is the 4th track of the Aap Kaa Surroor album and had a music video which can be watched here

Many thanks to all of you who have voted in Album of the Week! Im sure it won’t come as a surprise to most of us that Tere Naam has been voted as Album of the Week with a massive 28 votes! Thanks to all of you who have voted this week

As Album of the Week is our new feature, here is a some information on what to expect . It will have the same format as our previous Song of the Week, however the twist will be that all songs in the album can be discussed - not just one

Background info on Tere Naam

Tere Naam has been Himeshji’s highest selling album of all time (with sales increasing even now). It has also featured a few tracks by Sajid Wajid & Sukhwinder Singh, however the main title track as well as Tumse Milna Baatein Karna, Oodhni, Chand have remained the most popular compositions given by Himeshji to date.

The film which starred Salman Khan & Bhumika Chawla in lead roles, was a big hit at the box office and the music proved to be an even bigger hit with Himeshji winning almost all the best Music Director awards in the year 2003 .

The soundtrack offers a range of melodious numbers composed by Himeshji & sung by Udit Narayan & Alka Yagnik. My favourite track has to be Oodhni followed by Tumse Milna & then the title track.
