Himesh Reshammiya’s plans to celebrate his 33rd birthday with style went kaput as he had to report for an unplanned shooting schedule of Kajraa Re’s title song at Jordan in South Africa.

When contacted, Himesh says, “Yes, I had to cancel my birthday party. My friends wanted me to throw a bash and I had assured them that I would do so on my birthday. However, at the last minute, producer Bhushan Kumar and director Pooja Bhatt managed to get the permission to shoot at Jordan’s Petra Monastery, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Hence I chose work over my personal life.

It has been more than a year since his debut film as an actor, Aap Kaa Surroor, saw a theatrical release and turned out to be a smash hit! Ever since then, Himesh Reshammiya has been working non-stop on his acting assignments, so much so that even as he turns 33 today, he is busy on the sets shooting for the film Kajraare.

What’s the birthday boy doing in Jordan while shooting for a film when instead he may have well opted to party? “Why do you sound so surprised”, Himesh questions back, “I have always been like this, especially on special occasions. I like to work on my birthdays as well since this is one resolution I have stuck to throughout my professional career. I don’t believe in partying when I could instead use that time in working hard.”

If a certain buzz in the B-Town is to be considered, the cute and baby faced girl who became the perfect screen partner for Aamir Khan in the block buster ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’ released in 1991 is going to direct the remake of the film.

If the film is to be really made, for Mahesh Bhatt who directed the original film, seeing his daughter Pooja Bhatt calling the shots for the new version will be a unique experience.

No further solid reports regarding the progress of this new film has come up in the media so far.

And guess who has been considered as the leading man and for whom it will be a great challenge to do justice to a role which is considered as one of the best and most loved one enacted by Aamir Khan.

It is none other than the musician/actor Himesh Reshmmiya who has been decided as the leading man.
