Himeshji takes us through his journey of making Karzzzz!

Comb-at area
This is a subject of much curiosity, or should I say inquisitiveness? Everyone wants to know my hair story, but I will tell it some other day. Like my music, I like to improvise with hairstyles too, and will do so every two years. I’m enjoying the experience of taking my cap off.


Mountain peek
I took this picture at the white sands of Cape Town at 2 pm. I was checking out a suitable backdrop for a song sequence for my film, and this looked just right through the lens.


Car, go…
I know all heroes are car fanatics, but cars don’t interest me at all. For me, they’re just a way to go from point A to point B. Most often I listen to music while travelling. And think, of course. You can’t take off your thinking cap here. On this day, I was going through the script on the way to the shoot.


Top of the world
This is at a dizzying height of 2000 ft above sea level. All of us drove down to this place for a scene and the drive there was breathtaking. This place is about two hours from Cape Town.


Pillar of strength
I’ve caught Shweta Kumar in a pensive mood during the shoot at Cape Town. Shweta’s making her debut, but since she comes from a film family, she knows the ropes. She’s filmmaker Indra Kumar’s daughter, who has had so many hits to his credit. It was fun working with her.


Set the beat
I’ve caught Preyash Vakil, my rhythmist, at work. We were trying out the title track of my film, Karz, and finalising the tune. Preyash has been working out the arrangement of my songs since my first song in 1998, ‘Odh li chunariya’ in Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya.


Making music
Here, we’re taking a break from a jamming session, all of us, my musicians and I. There’s Suhas, Jayesh, Ronnie, Chetan, Preyash… all like family to me. I always compose by myself at home, and then have a jam session with my musicians and get their feedback. We’ve done so many stage shows together too. Jamming sessions mean trying to update sounds, trying out new sounds.

    Aap Kaa Surroor is a hit. My Favourite song is Tere Mera Milna & Jhoot Nahi Bolna.

    iam a very big and a huge fan of yours. Iam very happy that u r now working in films .i love all ur songs. but iam bit dissapointed that u didnt come to jaipur on 30th DECEMBER 2007 . i still have the ticket for the concert and i want to meet u and see u perform live in jaipur
