Himesh Reshammiya is now all set to act in a comedy titled Gujju Bhai. It will feature the singer-turned-actor in a Gujarati avatar — a goofy do-gooder who gets into all sorts of strange and satirical situations.

It is learnt that Himesh will again change his look, hair and wardrobe for the character. Says a source, “Himesh is a pucca Gujarati at heart and this will be his tribute to his community.

So far all his acting projects have been designed to highlight his abilities to sing, dance and perform on stage. Gujju Bhai will be his first character-driven story with the focus on acting, rather than singing and performing on stage.”

Work now, fun later

Satish Kaushik, who is known for his comic sense, both as an actor and director, has been roped in to direct Gujju Bhai for the producers, TV 18.

Satish is reluctant to talk about Himesh’s tryst with hilarity. “Right now we’re focusing on completing Karzzzz. We plan to release it in October, and we’re working full-throttle to beat the deadline.

The songs that Himesh has created for the film have to be heard to be believed. As for his acting abilities, Himesh is going to surprise his critics.”

Apart from Karzzzz, Himesh also features in Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh, Kajra Re and Love Isshtory that are in various stages of production.
