Himeshji: Interview!
Himesh Reshammiya took up the cudgels against the biggies of the industry and proved that he has the spark to make it big, not just as a singer but also as an actor. Himesh has now gone on to lose oodles of weight and has even got a hair transplant done for his film Karzzzz. His transformation from a typical Gujarati dhokla boy (as he calls himself) into a dude isn’t really over yet. In his forthcoming film Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh, Himesh will be seen flaunting a well-toned physique and will even take off his shirt. And he has hit the gym with a vengeance to acquire a flat torso. CT brings you actor-singer Himesh Reshammiya in a brand new avatar….
The new look
Shooting for his next film will commence in another two months and during this time, Himesh plans to eat right and exercise hard. Talking about his role, he says, “I play a professional swimming champ in the film and for that sporty look, I need perfect abs and cuts. There is this swimming scene, which will be shot in Paris. I am sure, people will love my lean, new look.” And is he also working on his body to acquire six-pack abs? “Six-pack abs? Definitely before my sixth film,” he answers wittily.
Winning over critics
Himesh’s caricatures have made for hilarious forwards on the Internet and his nasal twang is ridiculed by many in the industry. But with Aap Kaa Surroor being a hit and a good four films landing in his kitty, has he finally been able to silence his critics?
To this, he promptly replies, “ Aap Kaa … was my first hit. But I have to be consistent in giving these hits. Secondly, I don’t want to silence my critics, I want to win them over. There is still a section that has not accepted me as a singer or as an actor. Till the time that I win them over, my struggle continues.
Overcoming anger “I was never a short-tempered person, but when people called me a nasal singer, I used to get very upset. Now I have accepted the fact that I am a nasal singer and it no longer bothers me. Also, I have been practising yoga and meditation, which have helped me in more ways than one,” says he.
‘I am vulnerable’
Himesh’s popularity has steadily increased but he says he is as vulnerable and insecure as anybody else. It’s a price every celebrity pays. “Yeh to kainaat ka niyam hai. Aaj chadav hai to kal utaar. I am scared of the day when the decline happens,” he admits.Ask him what life has taught him and he says, “One lesson that I have learnt is that Karma and best wishes of the people decide one’s fate.”

- himeshji, i don’t have any qualms with your acting whatsoever, i am not even a critic of your acting…but you can never win me over by your acting performances…how you can win me over your acting is by reconsidering the statement “i will only compose for films that i act in”…and devising a way to increase your music
…himeshji…i am not even asking you to forget about acting…what i am saying is that you should at least consider giving music and working with atleast 3 big-banner films (im not even talking about b-grade projects) per year in addition to your own movies…so that the long waits are relatively reduced…quality of music is maintained along with curiosity factor…you still work with the best in the industry…and what more…fans get an equal share of both your acting and music…which is not currently the case as your career is more biased towards acting at expense of music…please do seriously consider this if you r reading…
himeshji…the exceptional music that for gave for Namaste London (my favorite HR album of 2007)….vipul shah, the producer would have loved to have you on board for the music for music of Singh of Kingh…and going as per your musical track record with HR-Abbas/Mustan combo…the figures only speak for themselves…Abbas/Mustan would have loved to rope you in for Race…if you are concerned about the release dates clashes with your own films…then im sure that your manager can work and sort that out…
himesh u r a rockstarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…………….
all my family luv u……………………………….
