Sony Entertainment Television has announced that it will air 53rd Filmfare Awards on Sunday March 2, at 8.00 p.m.

The 53rd Fair One Annual Filmfare awards was strictly a black tie affair with the crème de la crème of the Hindi film industry along with bureaucrats and politicians attending the gala event as they walked the red carpet. The heat of the evening could be felt at the venue. All the razzmatazz, glitz & glam of the event can be watched on Sunday, March 2, only on Sony Entertainment Television.

The unit of Satish Kaushik’s Karzzzz came into a bit of serious scare when political unrest and widespread riot broke out in one of the film’s primary locations in Kenya. The location was then shifted to South Africa.

Says Himesh, “I really don’t know what had happened. But the producer, Bhushan Kumar, and director Satish Kaushik heard the news about the widespread political unrest in Kenya. So, they decided to shift the location for Karzzz from Kenya to South Africa.”

Adds Satish Kaushik, “I was very keen to shoot Karzzz in Nairobi. But there was turmoil right across Kenya! I also wanted to shoot some key action scenes with Himesh involving aircrafts in Mombasa which is such a beautiful place. But we quickly had to shift location because riots broke out days before we were supposed to start shooting. So, we shifted the action scenes to Cape Town.”

Urmila Matondkar has never been more glamorously inclined. For the role of the high-flying super-socialite in the new remake of the 1980 blockbuster Karz, Urmila is going to be more glam-driven than for any other part that she has ever played.

Urmila’s favourite costume designer Manish Malhotra is working on her clothes which will reflect the character’s diva-like splendour.A budget of several crores have beeen set aside for Urmila’s clothes.

Says Urmila, “She’ll basically be an ageless diva. A very stylish and super-exclusive heiress and her clothes and demeanour would reflect a kind of inherent glamour.”

Morea joins Karzzzz cast; plays Raj Kiran’s character

Dino Morea flew off to South Africa late Tuesday night to join the cast of Satish Kaushik’s Karzzzz, based on Subhash Ghai’s ’80s film. The actor has been pencilled in to play the character of Ravi Verma, essayed by Raj Kiran, in Ghai’s film. Dino will star opposite Urmila Matondkar (who essays Simi’s role).

B-Town buzz had several names being tossed around for this role in the T-Series project. It was finally decided that Dino would star as the Mr Moneybags who is reborn as a singer, a role being enacted by Himesh Reshammiya.

Hold your breath — Himesh Reshammiya will be performing live at the Filmfare Awards in Mumbai this Saturday.
He has completed his first phase of shooting for Karzzzz in Johannesburg and is returning to Mumbai. Within a few hours of touching down, he will go straight to the Filmfare Awards where his new look will be revealed to all.

Says a unit member of Karzzzz, “Himesh is demonstrating great energy without showing any signs of stress or discomfort. He has been shooting non-stop for the movie and now, without even catching a breather, he is all set to come up with a performance in front of the industry big wigs.”

Continues shooting for Karzzzz despite a badly sprained leg

Shweta Kumar sprained her leg badly while shooting for Satish Kaushik’s Karzzzz with Himesh Reshammiya in Johannesburg but completed some major portions of the shoot thus impressing her co-star, producer and director.

Courage calls

Satish Kaushik says, “Shweta was dancing for the Soniye song (the Main Solah baras ki song from Karz) when she suddenly collapsed. But she came in the next day, shot for and completed her portions. We are impressed with her. This was the first dancing shot of her career. Everyone was amazed when she declared, ‘Don’t worry, I will complete my shots.’ ”
