Producer-director Indra Kumar’s daughter Shweta will make her debut opposite Himesh Reshammiya in Karzzzz. This T-Series project, produced by Bhushan Kumar, is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1980 film about reincarnation.

Directed by Satish Kaushik, Karzzzz has Urmila Matondkar playing the role of Simi Garewal with Himesh scoring the music as well.

Under wraps

Though everything is hush-hush, and several names of both newbies and known stars were being tossed around for a while, it is reliably learnt that Shweta has been finally pencilled in for the role of Tina Munim.

Bhushan Kumar, who is presently in Dubai says, “We have not finalised anyone as yet. There are two to three names under consideration. I will announce her name in the next three days.”
While Indra Kumar maintains, “It is not true.”

But a source says, “The name is being kept under wraps as there were others, too, being considered for this role opposite Himesh. After a lot of confabulations, Shweta was singled out for the role. ”

As reported in ‘Dhak dhak days again’ (Hitlist, December 10), Indra Kumar had stated, “Yes, my daughter Shweta is being launched in films but nothing is fixed yet.”

Adds the source, “But now Indra Kumar has agreed to Shweta being launched by
T- Series.”

Kya jodi hai

Incidentally, Indra Kumar’s sister is actress Aroona Irani. This makes for a niece-aunt actress combo in Bollywood.

Himesh’s debut as an actor, Aap Kaa Surroor, had teenager Hansika as his co-star. Now the singer gets yet another youngster as his heroine!
