A BIG thank you to all of you who participated in choosing our first song of the week! The chosen song for the next 2 weeks is none other than Aashiq Banaya Aapne!!
Background on Aashiq Banaya Aapne
As we all know, this song is the title track for the film Aashiq Banaya Aapne. It marks the beginning of Himeshji’s career as a playback singer. Himeshji wanted to record the song with a fresh voice, but wasn’t able to find anyone suitable enough for the song. Director, Aditya Dutt suggested that Himeshji should sing the song himself & after that, as they say, the rest is history 
Himeshji’s best friend Prashant Chadha directed the remix video for ABA (also featuring actress Tanushree Dutta) & Roopa Chadha (Prashant’s sister) styled Himeshji. The song went on to do tremendous success: playing in clubs, pubs & disco’s alike! It was also number 1 across the charts for many weeks!

A beautiful rhythm given a melodious feel by Himesh Ji’s ear pleasing tune and some soothing music arrangements, the number is highly catchy.
This song is very special to me becoz, it’s the first song sung by our Himesh ji.
How many times have I listened to the song ?? Plz don’t ask this question, coz, is tough to count in number system.

i honestly love this song this is when i first started loving himesh reshammiya before this i never knew who he even was though he has composed music for movies before this buti never knew him then he rocks i love this song i have listened to it over a 100 times

In this song, watch out for the following:
1. the song begins with a plesantly strange instrument i.e. the very first sound that is heard, its a real techno-bass sound
2. Notice how the underlying beats kick in and merge with the techno-base sound (i mentioned previously)
3. both in the mukhda and antara of the song,notice how HR varies his pitch while singing the same piece of tune
4. notice the techno instrument in the part when shreya goshal sings
5. Right at the end of the song,notice the part how HR says “jaalaye” and the way he prolongs the word “aapne” to sound like “aapneeeeaaaaaaa” giving it a dying effect..thats awesome….and after this word..the additional beats kick in and the trumpet accompanies…especially when it plays along with the word “tere bin”..superb..and thats the best part of the song….
*whenever ABA is played , it touches the inner soul of a person. dats y i like d song.
*ABA was hr’s most amazing work dat y its special to me.
*its a kind of melody that even AR RAHMAN cannot compose.
*lyrics enhances and give a perfect meaning to d composition of d song.

hi jem and team. how r u al?feel gr8 to hear ashiq banaya apne as the best. yes himesh ka pehla pehla gana. what a song! superb! mindblowing. but i badly want to know more about hr result of bollywood music awards 2007. i’ve seen it’s written nominated in the award section. so dear Jem he didn’t win?.. i’ve check other sites it is providing list of nominees and nothing is written abt the winners. i just hope he wins.
i love himesh voice too much its fantastic i think no one in the world will have this beautiful voice its really very nice voice. my mamo is also a great fan of himesh he firstly asked me to hear the new voice in the song ashik banaya in the promos. when i heard i was unaware about himesh who is he ? but when i heard the sond first time it realyy touched my soul of course himesh has sungthis song with great emotions and feelings that create his voice very soulful and very nice .Today iam one of his gr8 fan not only because of his music voice and acting but also becuse of his goodness and kindness.this song is very special to me as his fan becuse its first song sung by him and also he has got many many awards onhis first recorded song think no singer has won many awards on his first recorded song till date its a record that himeshji has won awards on his first recorded song.its totally diff and very nice and great melody i have never heard such beautiful melody someone is right here that AR rehman even cant make this soulful melody its really very soulful.of course lyrics are fantastic they touches the heart.its really very difficult to tell that how many times i heve listened the song because when this song came it was played everywhere this songs popularity is sky high.i again say voice lyrics and of course melody is mindblowing fantastic and of course very very soulful.

Aashiq banya aapne is special 2 me not only bcuz it’s one of the most mindblowing songs ever made….but bcuz it was our rockstars 1st song….this was the beginin of our Himesh ji’s rise 2 fame….the melody is superb,outstanding,mindblowing,fantastic n is def 1 of my fav Himesh melodies ever….the lyrics r soooooooooooooooo totally mindblowing….n Himesh sings each word with such meaning….my fav lines r “meri nigaho meh tera chehra ravaa hai….gehreh hai armaa jaanejaa pagal sumaa hai….” &
“tere bin jeena nay hai guvaara,tere bin dil ka nay hai guzara,tere bin kaun hai apna sahara….tere bin”
i’v listened 2 this song 100’s of tyms n i still listen 2 it often….
n even though Himesh has made tons of songs after this one….this song will always hav a special place in the heart of a true fan….lyk me….hehe….

I havent noticed so much abt thissong as die hard hr fan said. this is the song thru which i knew abt hr 1st. acyually i herad the song by knowing from the response of my frnds that its a good song. i liked it. at that time i wasnt a frequent listener of songs. so i thought that its sung by atif aslam. but 1 of my cousins told me that its sung by its music director Himesh Reshammiya. i felt something special abt the name. i enquired my sisters abt that and they showed me him in Sa re ga ma pa 2005. then i saw him with cap and i sometimes watched the show to see him bcos of feeling funny in his name……but everytime saw him in cap & i wanted 2 c him without cap.. then 1 day i accidently heard jhalak dikhlaja and slowly i liked it…….thusstarted seeing hindi songs and thus bcame a big hr fan!!!!!!!
so its due to that song that i know u all and u know me..
so its very special for me
it sounds more good to me as i hear it more n more
when it released i said t my bother that it will be a hit even if some other sung it……its not bcos of the voice its bcos of the song. later only i realised that i was wrong…..the depth of his voice.!!!!
And even A.RRahman has said that he loves Aashiq banaya Aapne.!!!!!!!

! Unfortunately our rockstar did not win the Bollywood Music Award 2007 - ARRahman beat us 
but we all know Himeshji is the best - we don’t need awards to say that

Ok guys, here come my thoughts for Aashiq Banaya Aapne!!
I still remember the 1st time I ever heard the song - the promo was playing on a certain music channel & I already used to love Himeshji’s music as I knew he had composed for films such as Ye Hai Jalwa (one of my favourite soundtracks!), Tere Naam, Humraaz etc. I just hadn’t seen the face behind the compositions!! I remember watching the remix video for ABA & doing a double take: at first I changed the channel but as soon as the camera focused on Himeshji I immediately changed back & was wondering who is this guy w/such an innocent face? & after that, as they say the rest really is history as I became one of Himeshji’s BIGGEST fan!!
Aashiq Banaya Aapne will always be a very special song for me because:
a) it changed the way I thought about Indian music &
b) it has such a strong melody backed (the tabla, the violins) with beautiful lyrics & sung w/such feeling that it is really hard for anyone not to fall in love w/the song!!
I just hope & pray that success always continues for Himeshji is tarah!!!

I was not a music lover except some of the songs.
One day my frnds were humming ABA.I liked the song composition and later heard it on TV. I liked it very much.Then once i heard my frnds humming tera surroor. I liked the compositins. I was not knowing the person bhnd these cmpositions til now. Then I watched the promo of AAP KAA SURROOR, and got to know that it was himesh reshammiya behind such compositions. till then i am very big fan of himesh reshammiya-our rockstar. i loved the song ABA thousands of time or perhaps more than that. This is my very favourite song of all times.
I liked each and every thing of this song.
No music composer turned singer got an award for best playback singer and our rockstar done it in his first attempt. and not one but many awards.
Hats off to you…..sorry, Caps off to you.
