Himesh Reshammiya, a top Bollywood composer, vocalist and actor and his 38 strong group will be flown to Nairobi by Qatar Airways to honour a promise he made to his Kenyan fans last year.

On November 16th he will unleash his pop and techno beats at the Nairobi Gymkhana for a one-day concert.

Himesh will be travelling with his band, Trenounce Dancers and Sa Re Ga Ma Team, who will spice up the concert of the celebrated vocalist and actor.

The maestro uses Raga and youthful melodies as seen and heard in films such as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

Himesh is widely considered one of Bollywood’s busiest composers. His most popular albums are Tere Naam and Aashiq Banaya Aapne.

The artiste’s first film in 1998 was Bandham where he collaborated with Anand Raj Anand for the musical score. His latest is this year’s Namastey London.

He is known to have created 36 hit compositions and has won prestigious rewards including Best Singer for the 2005 Aashiq Banaya Aapne, 2006 MTV Lycra and last year’s US Bollywood Music Awards.

His 2007 achievements are the Society Young Achievers Mumbai Award, All India Achievers Honour and Koffee with Karan Best Debutant Male Prize.

The sponsorship of flights by Qatar Airways for Himesh and his group gives his fans in Kenya the chance to enjoy a sensational concert at the 12,000 capacity Nairobi Gymkhana ground.

Himesh will appear with his special fashion style consisting of a baseball cap and a pair of jeans with a distinguishing belt buckle and his trademark stubble. To complete his characteristic image he has a black trench coat.
