Himeshji to sing “Mehbooba”

Himesh will be performing it live on New Year’s Eve.

Himesh Reshammiya, known for his nasal voice, was to sing the classic Mehbooba, originally sung by RD Burman, for Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay.

The singer-composer was to make an appearance in the song with Big B. But plans changed (some reports say Himesh backed out due to date problems, others that he was asked not to do the song). But now, Himesh will be performing it live on New Year’s Eve. I want to pay tribute to RD Burmanji, and since I lost the opportunity to do that in the film, Im doing it now. I consider him my idol, and it’s an honour to sing his song.

    sad n happy 2 kno that few will be fortunate to hear n rest unfortunate to hear hr crooning mehbooba….quite dissapointed!!
