My popularity is sky high

Grudge him all his success but truth is that Himesh Reshammiya is applauded worldwide. It’s obvious at the Wembley arena in London, NRIs are dancing in the aisles as the nasal singer belt out his numbers.

Later he chills in his suite with tablas and harmonium for company. Obviously he’s more than aware of his popularity. He confesses, “I know my popularity is sky high. The success of my shows in USA, UK are proof. People were going crazy at London, Glasgow and all the places that I visited. Now I’m used to the mass hysteria I generate.”

Before, I hint on his new-found arrogance he immediately says, “Success has not corrupted me. For the past two years I’ve been working nineteen hours a day. I’ve faced a lot of adverse comments but I don’t hold it against anybody. I’m sure I will win the one percent of the film industry that wants me to fall flat on my face.”

The singer dismisses rumours that he’s upset with some of the other music composers who pick on him, “I don’t have a problem with any music composers. Yeah, some of them are jealous of my success, but I can’t change that.”

Himesh’s foray into acting with Aap Ka Suroor hasn’t set showbiz on fire, yet, the composer is leaving no stone unturned to make a mark. “There’s immense pressure on me. I’m very happy with the reactions that I’ve got for my promos. We have also roped in Garry Powell who has been the action director of Casino Royale. But the film is not my biography as people are speculating. It’s only the romance angle in the film that’s related to my life,” he admits.

“No”, he protests vehemently when I ask him, if music composing will take a backseat now that he’s concentrating on acting and stage shows? “Even today, I compose three songs a day. I’m doing all these shows because there’s a demand for it. Also, in the last one year, I’ve had twenty releases and more than 36 hit songs. From here on, it’s going to be only three films a year. That way, my quality will never suffer and producers would be able to space their releases.”

Right now he’s looking forward to his next album the reason being, “Bismillah Khan saab had played the shehnai for it. It’s going to surprise a lot of people”, he promises.

    Thank you Mr Jem for this piece of information.
    What’s happening? I don’t know why these people are against him. Himeshji has been working hard since he was only 16 years old. At that time no one has given him break. He has worked a lot to acheive fame and success. So how can someone blame him for success. In every messages I keep telling that HIMESHJI IS THE BEST AND WILL REMAIN THE BEST. No one has the right to blame him for his success. Because he works very hard to obtain the best results. Good Luck Himeshji. God will always bless you. Your fans are always here for you.     I don’t understand why should certain person consider his success as his arrogance. Himeshji is such a nice person, very down to earth. He should be highly acclaimed for the good work he is doing in the film industry. Anyway, his fans will always be with him. Luv U himeshji :x :x

    himeshji is an excellent human and whatever he does he excels. so what are all these rumours about? thanks jem for posting the article. he’s not al all arrogant . it always shows in his atitude. it was lovely to hear another album is releazing. all the fans be ready to JHOOM =D =D

    I am a big fan of HR. I think his music has put us in such a trance that we have forgot the great musicians of our industry of all generations for a while now. It’s Himesh all over. His spelbinding music just fills out our boring lives. On one side his speaker blasting tunes like, Ashiq Banaya,Jara jhoom,Jhalak, and on the other hand his heart-stoping melodies like, Tere naam,Tera Surroor,Tanha jiya na jaye(Tom,Dick and Hary),Kyonki….

    hi himesh! I am a big fan of you.everyone is aware of the recent controversies.But as a fan i would say-”where ever you go you ‘ROCKS’
