Himeshji-Asha out, Ganesh-Sunidhi in for RGV’s Sholay

Published by Jem under HR News

Some more casting has been put to place for Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay. Choreographer turned singer Ganesh Hedge will compose and choreograph the song Mehbooba Mehbooba for the film. Earlier Himesh was to compose the same track and like his numerous music video appearances, was also set to make an appearance in the item song playing the role of Jalal Agha.

However things seem to have changed now with RGV roping in Ganesh Hegde. Varma wanted Himesh to do the film but the music director is quite busy with his international shows. Meanwhile Ganesh Hegde composed his version of the song adding old elements and incorporating new portions to it too, which Varma liked. Ganesh and RGV are now planning to shoot the song in five to six different parts of the world. Ganesh Hegde had earlier choreographed songs like Khallas and Kambakth Ishq for Ramu.

Himeshji will no longer sing “Mehbooba”

Published by Jem under HR News

One radical change from earlier plans - Himesh Reshammiya will no longer sing ‘Mehbooba o mehbooba’.

“Male vocals didn’t fit into the song any longer. Asha Bhosleji will sing the song for Urmila and Amitji will pitch in a few lines. That’s a change from the original because in the earlier ‘Sholay’ Amjad Khan never danced or sang. I’d have loved to have Himesh sing ‘Mehbooba’. But it just didn’t fit in,” said Varma.

Himeshji roots for Diwakar!!!

Published by Jem under HR Interviews, HR News

Himesh Reshammiya is the celeb guest on today’s episode of ‘L’il Champs’ (Zee TV). During the taping, he heard each child and had words of encouragement for all three.

But the apple of his eye was clearly Diwakar. Himesh said, “I am so impressed by you that I’m requesting all my fans to vote for you.” Of course, that did not go unnoticed by irate judge Abhijeet. Later, when Sameer sang, Abhijeet told Himesh to ask his fans to vote for him too.

Himeshji composes for Shakalaka Boom Boom!

Published by Jem under HR News

Once upon a time, music for Darshan brother films spelt only two names - Nadeem Shravan!

After giving numerous musical hits for both Dhamesh Darshan and Suneel Darshan, Nadeem Shravan would no more be seen for their new projects, at least for the time being, due to an alleged split between the two composers. Due to this, Himesh Reshammiya is now a hot favorite for both Darshan brothers. He recently gave a chartbuster score for Dharmesh Darshan’s ‘Aap Ki Khatir’ and one wonders how much further the score would have worked if the film would have been a success at the box office.

Himeshji as a teacher!!!

Published by Jem under HR Interviews, HR News

Some time back, we told you that singer-cum-music composer Himesh Reshammiya has lots up his sleeve. The buzz doing the rounds now is that he will be making his acting debut soon. “I can’t comment on that right now,” is all the singer was willing to say when contacted.

However, it is now learnt that the singer will be opening a music school next April and teaching singing too! “It’s going to be contemporary, with international teachers. We’ll teach all genres of music,” says Himesh. So, what made the singer venture into teaching? “It has always been my father’s dream (veteran Gujarati music director Vipin Reshammiya) and myself to start a music school.”
