Himeshji refusing films these days?

Published by Jem under HR Interviews

Sometime back it was showering Himesh Reshammiya all over, with one album following the other. With the emergence of Himesh, Bollywood music industry was suddenly flooded with hits. But now singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya is seeking a break and wants to cut down on his work. Recently he has refused many films for playback singing and composing, sending shockwave in the industry, leading filmmakers to panic.

Himesh has rejected more than 15-16 films. Everybody has been wondering why Himesh has decided to cut down works drastically. The reason is that Himesh has decided to slow down and give more priority to quality rather than quantity. He will be taking up only three films in the coming year. He says that cutting down on work will only boost his career.

This is a stunning decision for someone who is at the peak of his career. Wonder why? Inside sources reveal that there’s something up the composer’s sleeve, likely to be a big project.

Himeshji & Dandiya!

Published by Jem under HR Interviews, HR News

This Navratri you may not be able to dance to the tunes of Himesh Reshammiya, if leading dandiya organisers don’t cough up the public performance licence fee to T-Series.

T-Series owns most of the singer’s tracks apart from other hit music albums of Bollywood.

A majority of Reshammiya’s 200 tracks fall under the copyright act of T-Series Public Performance Licence (TPPL), who also have the copyrights of more than 35,000 hit tracks (Hindi and devotional music and remix albums).

Thank you, Himeshji!

Published by Jem under HR Interviews, HR News

He may be the most happening musician today, but Himesh Reshammiya hasn’t lost the ground beneath him. The composer recently referred his friend, actor Vatsal Seth (of ‘Tarzan’ fame) to National award winning writer and director Bharathiraja for his Hindi project, ‘Cinema’. “I know Himesh bhai really well. Despite being such a big name today, he has no airs. He was the one who introduced me to Bharathi sir. ” Adds Himesh, “Vatsal is extremely talented and I have full faith in him as an actor.”

I am about to change my style: Himesh Reshammiya

Published by Jem under HR Interviews

Reshammiya is about to change his style…. Undoubtedly today’s hottest composer Himesh Reshammiya clears the air about all controversies in an interview with Subhash K Jha.

Q: You’re the first composer since Nadeem Shravan to sell a film to the audience.
A: I don’t think the music can make a film sell. But yes, people do go to see my songs these days. I’m trying to work hard. But I can’t be responsible for a film’s success or failure. I’ve control over the music, not the way the music is used.

From my side I’ve to make sure that every song of mine works. Last year I had a bank of 500-600 songs. Today I’ve 1000 tunes are ready. My focus is on melody.

Q: You’ve patented that sufi-rock sound of Aashiq banaaya and Janaab-e-jani …
A: I’m about to change that style ….in the next two to three months. I know it has become a successful formula. But I can’t be stuck to one style. When I was doing predominantly Indian styles in Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya and Tere Naam, they said I cannot do any other style.

Then I entered a new phase with Just chill and Nikamma …These connected big time with the young crowds. In barely a few months I shifted to the sound of Aahiq banaya aapne.

I now want to combine world music and Indian melodies. Today’s target audience is 22 and below. I now want to aim at an audience that’s slightly older.

Himesh Reshammiya, in concert

September 11, 2006

When Himesh Reshammiya first performed in New Jersey, the concert was a runaway hit. The Aap Ka Suroor show was sold out, and the singer-composer had performances in Detroit and Toronto lined up.
His first US tour was such a big hit that Himesh performed for a second time on September 8 in New Jersey.

Udita Goswami was last seen in Anant Mahadevan’s Aksar. The film’s music, scored by Reshammiya, was a big hit that saved the film from sinking at the box office.
No surprise, then, that Udita featured in Himesh’s US show.

Himesh: Miracle man

Himesh Reshammiya with Ali Asgar Godhrawala and his mother
He’s currently touring the US with his Aap Ka Suroor entourage, but there’s one incident that has left Himesh Reshammiya completely zapped. The singer recently met up with one very special fan. Twenty two

year old Ali Asgar Godhrawala has been suffering from cerebral palsy that has impaired his speech and movement.

Suffering since birth, Ali is unable to respond to things around him.

However, things took an amazing turn recently, when for the first time Ali appeared to be looking at the television with interest.

Ali was watching Himesh perform a song. Apparently, this was the first time Ali had positively reacted to anything.
